This guitar will be safely packed and shipped. Comes with the original Gibson hardshell case- also in very nice condition. It was set up with 45/105's, adjusted and plays very nicely. The frets were polished and the fingerboard was cleaned, buffed and moisturized with an. Back, sides and neck were waxed and buffed with a high grade carnuba wax. It has just been deep cleaned and detailed. All the electronics work as intended and the neck is straight. This is a one owner, under the bed type of instrument- no funky odors or mods. Overall, the finish is glossy, clean and looks just as it did the day it left the factory back in 1976. There's no checking and just a few small marks on the body and one small chip on the end- see pics. It's not perfect, but not far from perfect. This guitar is in pretty amazing condition for being around 37 years old. So if your a player with a need its time- If your a dealer get that bass back up for sale. Another way is if you don't have original screws- A lutherian would know whether to open the holes up or not.Etc. In fact most ruined pick guards get that way from cranking down on the screws.Or not screwing them down like you would do a spare tire. If just one screw hole is off a little bit you could end up wrecking this one.
#THUNDERBIRD BASS INSTALL#
That is cellophane tape over the screwholes( it came that way) I strongly advise having a guitar expert( a lutherian) install this-You've heard the old story about not buying a car built on Mondays- Well. There is a strong reflection of a light fixture showing and on the back there is some of what looks like old finish or some. Nothing heinous-No cracks or breaks! The pix pretty much speak for themselves.
#THUNDERBIRD BASS CRACKED#
Gibson BiCentennial Thunderbird Bass Pick Guard-Do you belong to that very small group of vintage bass owners who own a Gibson Bicentennial Bass with a broken or cracked pick guard or perhaps a dealer or collector who has enough components to put one together?Well. Here's that chance to restore that bass to it's big dollar value- This pickguard has the little" 76" on the emblem. The sign of a true Bi-Centennial T-Bird-They were built in 19 so if your bass has a serial number starting with either 00 or 06 this is the correct replacement part- The pick guard is in great shape-It has a few small scrapes and abrasions. All Illinois residents please add 8.25% sales tax. It remains structurally sound has the headstock has never. This vintage Thunderbird looks great with lots of nicks + dings and other cosmetic wear. These holes have since been filled and properly re-drilled to secure the tailpiece the correct way it was originally. Then drilled the 3 factory screws all the way through the body to secure it even further, anchoring it with washers and nuts on the other side of the body. So a previous owner drilled two extra screws in the tailpiece to secure it. At one time the tailpiece was pulling forward. It's all original and 100% complete including its original hardshell case(missing handle) It even had the 4 shriveled original mute pads in the case. It has a good playing neck with good frets.

Olivia's Vintage would like to present this 1964 Gibson Thunderbird II Bass in its original Sunburst finish.
